Why being a sustainable & ECO-FRIENDLY brand is important to us?

Because It’s no secret that the Clothing industry is the second largest polluter in the world, standing after the Oil Industry. A major part contributes to water pollution, carbon waste, and landfill, etc., etc., And we are determined that we want to be a zero-impact swimwear brand to the best or closest we can.

Though we cannot do much in all areas that contribute to pollution as a brand, we take Plastic as the main culprit and Ocean trash as a huge problem. Surely It’s not easy to take in when you learn that by 2050 that there would be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Imagine if we get surrounded like that. It’s a mass area that as humans we will destroy if we don’t do anything about it. The brand is a movement and a way of tackling plastic getting into the ocean because we care for the Oceans, Nature, and all living surroundings. Trying to keep the process sustainable is not easy, but we try.

Trivia – Did you know that plastics end up in the Oceans, kill 1.1 million marine lives annually? Painful reality.

Our brand is important to us and what keeps us going and we are on this sustainable journey for the better of tomorrow.

Packaging & supply chain

HARDWARE & TRIMMINGS – We try to avoid hardware as much as possible just so you have long-lasting swimwear because we know that the fabric performs and the styles are timeless. But when we use any, it’s all regenerated metal, recycled plastic, or Organic items such as wooden or coconut shell trims. Even our Hygiene strips are made of food waste.

PACKAGING – We are using all recycled hang tags and Eco friendly packaging and organic ties. while we try to re-use everyday packaging items for good use, which will help us reduce the carbon emission and use of energy in the recycling process of these once-used items. Our posting bags are made of food waste too that’s bio-gradable in days.

And for all the other little things, we always source suppliers who are sustainable and caring for the planet.

Manufacturing

BEING ETHICAL – We manufacture all our swimwear on the South Coast of NSW Australia. We have partnered with the most talented team along with our designer working closely every step of the way. We are proud that the whole manufacturing process happens in Australia, creating a friendly space for the locals of Jervis bay to work while we care for each other. We love this manufacturer because of our shared vision of sustainable and ethical practices.

Quality

QUALITY  is the most important part of our business. The reason we do not outsource our manufacturing is due to unethical means of manufacturing where quality is compromised. Where modern-day slavery happens in the form of organized so-called garment factories behind doors where human right is just the words that get typed into brochures.

Our products are made with a lot of attention and love. Each item is checked during the process and after sewing while they all go through a final inspection before packing.

Made to last longer and made in Australia to keep the manufacturing process sustainable too.

Our Vision

The sustainable way towards cleaner oceans

Our circular fashion movement for cleaner oceans by 2040.

We believe that plastic should be recycled again and again to keep the new plastic away from the environment. It is easy and cheap for plastic makers to mix petroleum to make new plastics. But if we practice buying only recycled plastic products, there is no way the new plastic is going to find its way in.

As a brand, we are determined to do the right thing.  We have already gone the extra mile to make sure that the fabrics we use for our swimwear are truly a product of recycled plastic bottles collected from the oceans and waterways. We are proud to say that after 2 years of hard work, we are one of the very few certified brands in the market.

Apart from starting our brand at the right point, we are in the process of working towards making our brand zero waste.  Few ways we are considering doing this as below and not limited to, As we keep looking into other ways to go completely eco friendly brand.

We are aiming to take your costume back from you once you decide that you have worn it enough or it is worn out. We are aiming to either repair or revamp them and give it back to you so you could wear them another season or we will get them re-cycled back again into plastic chips or other products, Once we have one tonne (1000kgs = heaps of swimwear ) collected every time. Meantime though this is at the discussions with potential recycling facilities we welcome anyone in this capacity to join hands with us.

Our goals are too big to achieve but with the right group of people backing us, we have no doubt that we could do this together. Below are in the planning and please ( we reiterate ) contact us so we can work together.

The list of like-minded people we are looking for now

  1. If you are an artist who would like to test different mediums to try creating artwork we would be happy to give you the shavings of the fabrics that come cut from the sewing machines.

  2. If you are a home-based kid’s clothing business that does appliques, we would love to give you the off cuts of fabrics when we cut our costumes.

  3. If you are a creative who makes hair accessories or any wearables with fabric pieces, we would love to give you the offcuts.

We would love to hear from you if you have other ideas so we can reduce the impact even while we are recycling plastic.

Thank you
